Actors/Performers Wanted for Schools & Arts Centres Tour Autumn 2010

We are the Babbling Vagabonds Storytelling Theatre, an award-winning theatre company based in the small market town of Bakewell in the heart of The Peak District National Park.

We are seeking skilled performers for our autumn tour of The Lonely Giant which will be visiting schools, arts centres, rural communities, and theatres from October and finishing at Christmas 2010.

The production involves lots of puppetry and the tour will involve some puppet making workshops in schools and venues; all training will be given. We are looking for versatile performers with a commitment to creating work of the highest quality for children. Workshop skills and experience of puppetry is desirable but not essential. 

We are particularly interested in artists living and creating work in the East Midlands and North West region, though again this is not essential.

Rehearsals:  Monday 4th October – Saturday 16th October 2010

Tour Dates: Monday 18th October till Sunday 18th December 2010

Pay: £300 per week including rehearsals

For luxury cruise ship sailing SE Asia, Australia and New Zealand. 7 Month Contract. Rehearsals start 4th October.

Strong all round dance skills including classical, jazz and tap. Acrobatic, and adage skills - all advantageous.

Singers must prepare two contrasting songs on own CD backing tracks. Female Dancers must be prepared to audition in a leotard and are encouraged not to wear baggy trousers or jogging pants. Please bring heeled dance shoes to the auditions, e.g. New Yorkers in addition to jazz and tap shoes.
