Shooting Fish are working on redeveloping a script for touring production in Autumn 2010 and we are seeking an experienced puppeteer/actor to help facilitate this. 

The play tells the story of Charlie, a failed writer who is packing away his life after failing gloriously.  Through the course of the play the story he never managed to complete is told, using seemingly everyday objects such as a teddy bear, a scarf and other objects.  The writer is hoping to explore how the use of object manipulation can carry over into his treatment of Katie, the girlfriend he ignores to pursue his writing.  

We are seeking an experienced actor with some experience in object manipulation and puppetry. 

The development will take place during the week of 11th January 2010 at The Carriageworks in Leeds and we will provide accommodation and cover transport costs.  There is a fee of £300 for the week.  The week will end in a staged reading to which we will be inviting theatre professionals and venue managers.

Urgently looking to cast a male asian actor for our Theatre in Education tour of the Midlands in January 2010.  You must have a playing age of 16-25, hold a full driving licence and ideally have a minimum of 3 years drama training.   As well as playing believable young people we require verstile actors who can switch from a convincing bully or a young person turned off from learning to a fun and lively tv personality or a "real" older person such as a teacher or adviser. 

Rates of pay are £300 per week (£340 for Team Leaders).  All accommodation is paid for during rehearsals and whilst out on tour.

The audition is on Monday 21st December 2009 at our rehearsal rooms near Huddersfield. 

PrefaceMorn is looking for dancers for its rework of “Beauty in Stone”.

PrefaceMorn is a dance and physical theatre company lead by disabled choreographer Niall Cullen.

It aims to work with disabled and able-body performers and collaborators, and to produce high quality work, which is accessible to all audiences.

“Beauty in Stone” is a contemporary dance show with elements of live art.

The show explores the relationship of society with the female body and the concept of the perfect female body.

It’s inspired by sculptures and painting based around the Greek goddess Aphrodite.

The show will contain full nudity with a possibility of body paint.

We are looking for professional dancers who are confident with their bodies,

And welcome applications from disabled and able body dancers.

There will be 8 rehearsals, dates are:

Every Monday from 11th January to 8th March (without the 15th Feb)

With a sharing on the 12th March

Payment is £250 for the whole project
