Devised Costume based Performance, produced by London College of Fashion in collaboration with experimental practitioners Marie-Gabrielle Rotie (www.rotieproductions.com) and Anton Mirto (www.A2company.org). Experimental physical devisers, performers and dancers are sought to work with Marie-Gabrielle and Anton and seven MA Costume Design for Performance students towards the creation of seven short pieces of live performance, which will take place in a London studio theatre in late January. The fee of £ 300 per performer will include: fittings (3/4 afternoon / evening session held at London College of Fashion in October and November), a photoshoot on 4th December, a short rehearsal period in January and a maximum of the equivalent of 2 days in the theatre. All rehearsals will be held in or near central London.
Character descriptions:
‘Jane Eyre’ as a manifestation of the Charlotte Brontes tortured feelings about her physical essence. Dark straight hair if possible and pale in complexion. Dancer/actor training required.
‘Skriker’, a dark fairy, changes shape at will. Ideally for a Female performer, with a dance or physical theatre background, possibly age 30-40. ‘Danae’, the young girl, then the pregnant woman trapped in the tower. 20-25 years old, with physical experimental theatre / dance devising experience.
‘Old lady’ in Beckett’s ‘Come and Go’. A mature-looking petite performer is preferred with expressive physicality as she will represent three characters.
"Crow" the anti-god, becomes manifest in the materials of the war of men and unfurls himself in all his dark glory. For a male performer, preferably tall with physical, experimental theatre / dance devising experience.
In Peter Weiss’ Marat-Sade, control and restrain are key themes. I am looking two male, physical performers, also interested in manipulating a puppet. ‘Lulu’ by Frank Wedekind. Young female, with physical experimental theatre / dance devising experience, to portray a child-like but fatally alluring Lulu.
Casting will be on Saturday 18th October

Making Monologues
Male actor required. The renowned Newfound Theatre Company is currently casting for ‘Making Monoluges’ an innovative and exciting theatre in education project.
Based in the Greater Manchester area, the work will involve performance and workshop sessions in high schools.
We require one young looking male actor.
The work is on-going one off sessions throught the year and so doesn’t require months of commitment. Actors should be enthusiastic, experienced, creative and comfortable working with 15-16 year olds. Again teaching experience would be useful, but not essential.
