Workshop and public showing: a three week's workshop with two public showing.
TIME: 13th July to 14th August (with a two weeks' break in-between)
performances/public showing on 13th and 14th August.
FEE: available and will be confirmed when funds are cleared.
CAST:
Laura 1 - CONTORSIONIST FEMALE. Laura appears as shadow and will be filmed, and so appear as a character in the piece. the workshop re the filming ofthis material will be one week, from the start of workshop. Laura 2 - MEZZO SOPRANO. Laura will only appear as a real character in one scene (as opposed to the pre-filmed shadow-appearance), but she will also be on stage to give voice to shadow-laura for the rest of the performance
Elena - SOPRANO
Emil - BARITONE
Friedrich - BASS or BARITONE
Lime - TENOR. Lime appears as a shadow only. This part will be sung live from off-stage.
The singers should be open to explore contemporary vocal techniques, be prepared to work in workshop conditions (some of the music will be written only during the time of the se workshops) and so it's an advantage to be a fast learner, have a creative/ inventive mind-set and have good acting/physical skills.
This should be a very exciting opportunity for singers to be part of the creative process and collaborate closely with an excellent team producer/director/composer team. |

Wanted leading female (age 35-70) for a short film being shot in Preston.
We are second year students at the University of Central Lancashire in the process of producing a short film based on a student script.
We are looking for an out-going and confident lady who is up for a challenge and enjoys acting.
Our aim is to submit the finished film to festivals and gain recognition. We cannot provide any payment as this is a student film, however food will be covered for the shooting, and a copy of the film supplied. The part will be an enjoyable acting experience. Auditions are to be held in the upcoming week.
The film focuses on Jacob, a lonely man obsessed with his idol, the late pianist Christoph. As he practices at his piano and fantasises about his talent, interference from his outspoken neighbour, Rose, becomes a constant annoyance. The film primarily focuses on the contrast between the characters, leading to a shocking climax.
(Antagonist) A confident and interfering landlady who regularly disturbs Jacob at home to satisfy her role as the local gossipier.
She is loud, nosey and rather boisterous.

National Dance Agency is looking to recruit a new dancer to the company. The dancer must have excellent contemporary technique, devising and performance skills. It is highly desirable that the dancer is also strong in other dance styles (e.g. ballet, jazz, tap, street or multi-cultural dance forms). Applicants must show an interest in working with young people in schools and be willing to acquire an up-to-date enhanced CRB disclosure and public liability insurance. The post will include shadowing Dance Equation artists and mentoring from company director, co-delivering and leading workshops. It will also include some performance research/devising with the company. There may also be the possibility of further opportunities through Dance4. It is envisaged that this post will develop into a more permanent role with frequent performance opportunities. Details: The post will be 4 days per week for 15 weeks between 9th March 2009- 4th July 2009 (Omitting 1 week in Easter and 1 week in May half term). The candidate needs to be based in Nottingham. If asked to travel further than a 7 mile radius of Nottingham, travel expenses will be paid. £200 per week for 4 days per week. Audition and interviews will be held Sunday 1st March 2009 at Dance4. (invitation only). |
