Musical performers with experience in clowning

The Honk Project is a troupe of musical clowns intent on exploring the ways in which music and clowning can interact.

We will be devising a new show in January 2009 at Jackson’s Lane, and we are looking for a fourth performer to join us

We want to find a strong, individual and quirky performer who has had lots of live performance experience in clowning and physical comedy, and who also plays two or more musical instruments to a high standard. Ideally, one of these will be an acoustic bass instrument – e.g. double bass, tuba, sousaphone, baritone sax...

Our fourth Honker will be someone who enjoys working in an ensemble, fits in easily with other performers and is open to improvising with music as well as reading dots. And of course, he/she will be excited by the idea of putting clowning and music together.

The plan is to devise/rehearse for 3 weeks from 12th January 2009, and then perform the show at several London venues in February.

Latin american looking actor

Theatre Company is looking for a male actor to join .

This role requires an actor that has a Latin American look and Spanish at a native level.

Our Artistic Production and Education Activities are in Spanish/English and are influenced by the countries and cultures of the Spanish speaking world. The company’s first play “Voces de La Palabra” was performed five times in June 2007 and again in March 2008 in the Instituto Cervantes in London to full houses and considerable acclaim.

The play is the result of an experimental work in which texts by Eduardo Galeano have been adapted for the theatre with live music.

We are now looking to perform Voces in other public venues and take the work to schools and colleges where Spanish is taught.

We need an actor that has a Latin American look and can speak Spanish at a native level, somebody that can rehearse a role and be able to perform when our company actor is not available.

This can be a way into future work with the company.

We can't  offer a salary during rehearsals but the performance profit will be share.

Deadline for applications: Sunday 23 November

If this interests you we’d love to hear from you.
